It’s always great to have an excuse to eat more chocolate with NO GUILT and at your writing coach’s request!
This week, for WORLD CHOCOLATE DAY you are required to go and get yourself some wonderful and amazing chocolate to eat whilst you write this prompt…
Your chocolatey prompt
It’s important to have a little fun with our writing, and indulge a little as we do it. We all know that creativity sparks when we are relaxed and tapping into some happy brain chemicals! And chocolate is a great short cut to them.
Your prompt this week is to really take your time eating the chocolate, and to write about it - the smells, texture, taste, memories, comfort. This is a deep-dive into a character and fleshing them out (literally or not)….
Some ideas:
Start with a character writing a love letter to their favourite chocolate - but perhaps save the revelation to the end (that its chocolate and not a person)?
What does the chocolate do that nothing else can? What comfort does it bring? Or joy? Are there any memories attached to the chocolate?
The key for this prompt is to start with the chocolate and the experience - live it closely and then see where the chocolate takes you…
